I have been studying Japanese for almost 4 years. As of 2020, I have been taking my studies more seriously. Since I struggle with social anxiety, I have always had a hard time finding the best way for me to learn the Japanese language. Wether this would be live or via Zoom, in a group setting or private lessons etc.
At one point I decided to do the group lessons and stumbled on Michiko Sensei. I did not enjoy the group lessons at all, but I was still excited cause I did enjoy Michiko as my teacher. I quickly realized that learning in a group setting was not for me.
After some time I decided to only do private lessons with Michiko, and to be honest that was the best decision I’ve ever made :). Within no time I learned so much and was able to pass for my JLPT N4.
Even though I struggled with some fear and anxiety, Michiko was always super understanding, kind and empathetic. Having lessons with Michiko sensei always feel like a casual conversation with a friend while learning so much at the same time.
She is good at explaining grammar, even the most complex ones. When she gives feedback, it never feels like you are being scolded :).
I honestly would recommend Michiko to anyone that is learning Japanese and wants to be fluent and good at the language in the shortest time possible. Obviously it is a complex language and you need to study a lot yourself and be very serious, but with Michiko by your side, you’ll be making sentences and conversing with natives in no time!

About two years ago, after concluding my studies and with an interest in Asian cultures, I decided to explore the Japanese language. It was during this time that I had the fortune of having Michiko as my instructor. Her method of teaching resonated with me so profoundly that I specifically requested her for each subsequent class.
Some standout attributes of Michiko's teaching include:
- Understanding: Demonstrates a deep comprehension of individual student needs and tailors lessons accordingly.
- Balanced Pacing: Finds a harmonious balance between course progression and individual needs.
- Inclusive Teaching: Ensures every student feels valued.
- Clear Communication: Concepts are always communicated clearly.
- Adaptable: Adjusts her teaching style to cater to different learning paces.
- Passionate: Her genuine love for the language and culture is evident in every lesson.
While I genuinely enjoyed delving into Japanese, my life and work commitments eventually demanded a shift in priorities. However, the foundation Michiko provided remains with me. I'm truly grateful for the knowledge and skills she imparted and cherish the experience of being her student. Our classes together — filled with laughter, challenges, and shared accomplishments — are memories I hold dear.
For those contemplating a deeper dive into the Japanese language, Michiko is an excellent choice. Under her guidance, the learning journey is not only informative but also enjoyable.
I'm very happy to have had Michiko as my teacher.

Michiko san is the best Japanese teacher anyone could ever have.
Let me explain my personal experience in the following lines, so you can understand the reason of my first sentence.
My first touch with Japanese language was in 2018 in Japan.
I started studying Japanese at an official school in Tokyo. It was a good but frustrated experience because of the day to day four lessons, the hours I spent for studying every day and the stress I felt to understand and follow properly the lessons and explanations, plus the feeling of knowing that my class colleagues already had a previous knowledge of the Japanese language.
After a few months studying at this official school, whilst I was still living in Japan, I decided to look for a personal teacher, my own teacher. It was the best decision I could ever take for different reasons: the level of teaching the lessons, the rhythms to do them were focused on me and the benefit of having a teacher totally adapted to me and my knowledge.
Due to some personal life changes I came back to Spain. I firstly continued doing Japanese lessons with my Japanese teacher who lived in Yokohama. We could not match our time schedules, and the time difference between both countries was also a handicap. This turned into a high difficulty to fix a day and hour to do our lessons. Losing my Japanese teacher at that moment was very critical for me. I was 100% convinced to continue improving on Japanese. There was a very good thing on this situation: my teacher introduced Michiko san to me.
The first time I met her was online during the pandemic for a trial lesson. When it finished this trial lesson I was amazed by her professionalism on teaching by online sessions (not everybody is capable to teach online).
Nowadays, after 4 years taking Japanese classes from Michiko san, I can confirm that she is not only an amazing teacher but also a very good person. If you choose her, you will be immersed in Japanese language and Japanese culture, and will definitively feel her lovely enthusiasm to help her students.
